Inside our Member Days
How the Land & New Homes Network Is Helping Agents Unlock Growth in Their Local Markets
Hands-on, in-person and built around the realities of each business, our Member Days have for nearly 10 years been one of the most valuable tools in our Network members’ growth playbooks.
Walk into our offices on any given week, and you are likely to find a member agent at the table, coffee in hand, deep in conversation with our team. Sometimes it is a one-to-one strategy session. Sometimes it is a peer-to-peer roundtable where principals from different corners of the country compare notes on planning headwinds, developer relationships, and what is actually moving in their patch. On average, we host six of these Member Days every month and the appetite for them is growing.
That is no accident. The land and new homes market does not reward generalists. It rewards agents who can read a site at a glance, speak the language of land and sales directors, and convert opportunity into revenue faster than the firm down the road. Our Member Days exist to compress that learning curve and to make sure no member is doing it alone.
Quick wins, deliberately engineered
Every Member Day starts with the same question: where is the easiest growth hiding in your business right now? Sometimes the answer is a stalled site that needs a fresh pricing conversation and strategy. Sometimes it is a pipeline of warm developer contacts who have never been asked the right question. Sometimes it is as simple as repositioning a residential team to identify land opportunities the agency is already walking past every week.
We work through the numbers, the pipeline and the local market data side-by-side with the agent. The output is rarely theoretical. Members typically leave with three or four actions they can put into motion that same week the kind of practical, revenue generating moves that compound quickly when applied with discipline.
Sharpening the skills that matter
Beyond the immediate wins, Member Days are where capability gets built. Our team works with agents on the disciplines that distinguish a credible land and new homes agency: appraising sites with confidence, structuring agency agreements that protect margin, presenting to housebuilders, and managing live developments through to completion.
Sessions are tailored to the agency in front of us. A firm taking its first serious step into land will spend time identifying opportunities and reaching out to developers. A more established team might focus on marginal gains and wider growth reach, pitch craft or how to scale a new homes department without losing service quality. Wherever an agent sits on that journey, the goal is the same – to make them sharper, faster and more commercially confident than they were when they walked in.
The power of the peer group
The peer-to-peer sessions add a dimension that no amount of one-to-one coaching can replicate. When principals from non-competing markets sit around the same table, the conversation moves quickly past surface-level updates and into the operational detail that actually matters: what is working, what has been tried and abandoned, where margin is being lost, and how the best teams are structuring incentives, marketing spend and developer relationships.
These are some of the most candid rooms in our industry. Members consistently tell us that an afternoon spent with their peers shifts their thinking in a way that internal strategy days rarely do. Ideas travel between regions. Pitfalls get flagged before they cost money. And a quiet network of trusted relationships builds beneath the surface of the formal programme relationships members lean on long after they have left the office.
A market-leading solution, built with members not just for them
Our ambition has never been to deliver a generic central service. It has been built, in partnership with our members, a genuinely market-leading land and new homes proposition, one that gives independent agents the tools, training, intelligence and developer access typically reserved for the largest national firms.
The Member Days are the engine room of that ambition. They are where the strategy gets pressure tested, where new initiatives are sharpened against real-world feedback, and where the network’s collective experience is fed back into every member’s business. Six days a month may sound modest. In practice, it represents hundreds of hours each year of focused, member-led work and it is showing up in the results our agents are reporting back to us.
Looking ahead
Demand for Member Days continues to climb, and we are expanding the programme in response. Expect to see more themed peer sessions in the months ahead, deeper focus areas for established new homes teams, and a continued commitment to making sure every member whether they are securing their first land instruction or running a mature department, has a seat at the table.
If you are a member and you have not yet booked a Member Day, drop us a message or give us a call to get booked in. The agents who are getting the most out of the network are the ones using this resource consistently. The door is open, the diary is filling and the quick wins are waiting.
